Monochrome Magic in Italy for Alberto & Valentina

A dream in monochrome, Alberto and Valentina's special day followed a Great Gatsby theme filled with classy and elegant details.

In the endless, rolling gardens of the Castelvecchio Estate’s expansive grounds, Valentina and Alberto’s dreamy wedding day was surrounded by natural beauty and filled with love. From antique stone architecture and a blissful terrace with sea views, to a wonderful indoor space featuring marvellous frescoes on the walls, their beautiful ceremony was like a picture from a fairytale.

Tall trees in all shades of green lined the winding garden paths, and alongside pristine outdoor furniture, potted shrubbery, and shimmering stone steps, the bride and groom could lose themselves in the true Italian ambiance of the estate. “We wanted to find a place in Friuli that we loved, and that could offer exactly what we wanted, both indoors and outdoors,” explains bride Valentina. “After a thorough search, we decided on the Castelvecchio Estate, with its boasting beautiful grounds and breath-taking views.”

The bride and groom shared their special day with many of their close friends and family. Aiming for a larger ceremony in which they could be surrounded by all of the people they treasure the most, Valentina and Alberto ensured that everyone would be able to enjoy the stunning scenery of Italy as well as partaking in their wedding day… “After a series of Covid-related unfortunate events, we were just happy to be able to get married at all!” laughs the bride. “The large group we spent the day with made us feel very special, and they left us with beautiful memories of that day. I wouldn’t have changed anything for the world.”

Bride Valentina was radiant and beautiful in her soft pink gown, embellished with glistening pearls and stunning detailing. The trumpet cut of the dress was perfectly flattering and feminine, a flowing train adding to the sense of sophisticated elegance about the look. “I knew it would be difficult to find the perfect dress,” the bride tells us. “I have modelled wedding dresses before, so I wanted something completely different for my wedding day than what I was used to… I wanted a dress that would stun me! At the third atelier I visited, they took out a dress, and I instantly knew that it was the one for me.”

Groom Alberto travelled to Venice to try on his suits in some exclusive boutiques. “I wanted to have a one-of-a-kind experience. In the midst of the Venetian Laguna, I found the perfect tuxedo, beautifully made by Sicilian tailoring. I wanted to pay attention to details and customised my cufflinks with our initials.”

In addition to the grand, refined style of the estate’s gardens, the bride and groom decided to go with a Great Gatsby theme when thinking about their decorations and floral arrangements. Their reception glowed beneath the beginning hints of the evening sky – a long table situated near the edge of a terrace overlooking the Italian countryside, enwrapped in warm fairy lights. Everyone who was involved in the wedding day felt the glitz and glamour that came with being a part of this celebration, and many memories were made from every special moment.
