A Slovenian Soiree for Lovebirds Ankita & Sankalp

Immersed in the majestic mountains of the Karst region in Slovenia, Ankita and Sankalp fell in love with the beauty of the landscape and the intimate venues that matched perfectly with the environment. A vibrant weekend celebration was in store for this fun-loving couple and their 80 guests: “It all kicked off with a welcome Holi brunch, where our guests broke the ice by smearing each other with powdered colours, and dancing and singing drenched in these colours like it was the end of the world.”

Following their kaleidoscopic opening party, the pair held a Sangeet and Mehendi party at Villa Fabiani, full of music, dancing and a cosy evening dinner in a vineyard under the stars. Strings of festoon lights illuminated the dining tables, scattered with bright blousy blooms and zesty citrus fruits.

For the main wedding event, the next day, the pair and their guests made their way to the ceremony in the Ferrari gardens of the Grad Stanjel (Štanjel Castle), serenaded by the enchanting sounds of the dhol (Indian drums). “We wanted a combination of all the warmth and fun of a culturally Indian wedding, and the emotion of an intimate cosy ceremony," reflected the bride.

Ankita and Sankalp’s closest relatives had an important part to play in the service. “Our mothers performed heartfelt and personal readings in English and Hindi, after which we exchanged personally written vows. We chose to exchange jaimalas (flower garlands) to seal our marriage as a symbol of our commitment and love.” The ceremony was a joyful union of true love, reflecting their one-of-a-kind relationship.

The newlyweds continued the party with their nearest and dearest in the historic castle courtyard, all expertly planned and designed by CARA creative. “Karin and her team styled, planned, coordinated and put their hearts and souls into making our weekend the most special time of our life,” reflects the bride.

The duo took care in picking out unique outfits for each celebration. “We wanted to have a different vibe for the two wedding days. For the first day, the Sangeet and Mehendi, we chose very vibrant colours to be fun and flamboyant. Then for the next day, the wedding day, we wanted a more romantic, soft and elegant look. It took a few trips to Delhi to find the perfect outfits!”.
