3 Bridal Hairstyles with Andrew Barton

Beautiful locks for blushing brides!

Andrew Barton, celebrity hairdresser of Andrew Barton Hair talks us through three beautiful bridal hairstyles for those gorgeous blushing brides-to-be!

Styling hair for the bride’s big day takes lots of planning and often multiple trials to get it just right for the bride’s vision – everything needs to be perfect!

Working together to plan and create a hair style that compliments the gown and the bride’s face shape and features, taking any accessories into consideration and of course, the most important bit, how the bride wants to feel about herself. From structured and formal to relaxed and casual here are 3 of my favourite bridal hair up’s that all have a signature of sophistication and elegance.

1. Grecian Goddess

Look 1 takes its inspiration from a Grecian goddess and is worn slightly tousled to give a natural. Relaxed effect while still groomed enough to hold together all day. Flattering for smaller figures it adds volume and texture throughout the hair whilst not looking set or too done. Gently pinned at the back of the head it’s a great hairstyle compliment to gowns with fuller skirts and can be perfectly accessorised with flowers to add to the ethereal effect.

2. Relaxed & Elegant

Look 2 is a perfect combination of half up half down, one of the most popular bridal styles and it suits everyone.  The majority of the hair pinned back away from the face it accentuates height and volume at the crown which is super flattering for all face shapes and figures. The gentle wisps of hair around the face soften the overall look and more can be added for those brides that don’t want their face fully exposed. Once the hair is oiled back from the face the remaining hair is tousled using a tong for an au natural wave. I generally use Racoon Luxe Weft hair extensions through the pony tail at the back to give a longer and fuller effect.

3. Classic Beauty

Look 3 is twist on a classic chignon and is a perfect hair look for the bride that does not want to touch or think about her hair during her big day. Some brides like to change their hair throughout the day, others prefer a hairstyle that will stay put without any help and this look does just that. With all he hair pinned back away from the face it tends to compliment classic gown silhouettes that hug the body added to a streamline overall look. The hair can be arranged higher or lower on the crown to accentuate the face shape and profile. I love this look when it’s teamed with dramatic eye make up. "Glittering hair accessories are a beautiful complement to this classic hair look.”
