Journey into the Jungle for this Real Life Wedding in Costa Rica

Surrounded by the rich, tropical vegetation of the Costa Rican rainforest, Aloura and Andres celebrated their marriage in front of the vibrant foliage and the people they love most. An arch made of big palm leaves and colourful, native florals stood tall behind the bride and groom as they recited their vows, and looming, jungle trees draped down from above. The magical moment could have been a scene straight from a movie… “The ceremony was incredibly emotional for us both,” recalls bride Aloura. “We both cried more than we expected. But in a super happy ‘is this really our life?!’ kind of way!”

The bride and groom planned an entire week of activities for themselves and their guests to enjoy… Starting with a welcome bonfire at their hotel, that ended in an impromptu concert when their chef pulled out his acoustic guitar! The next day, everyone went on a sloth-finding quest, and discovered the depths of the amazing Costa Rican flora and fauna… Followed by a coffee and chocolate tour! From delicious lunches and swimming in the La Fortuna waterfall, to a cooking class and salsa dance lessons, every moment of the bride and groom’s celebration was packed with fun-filled, once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for everybody involved to carry with them for a lifetime.

On the special couple’s wedding morning, they took part in a Gratitude and Intention Setting Yoga Class with their officiant. The incredible, grounding experience allowed them to begin the day in a calm, relaxed mindset… As well as see some of their guests who had never done yoga in their lives try out some couples poses! “True serendipity in my opinion,” smiles the bride.

Stunning in her A-Line cut, off-the-shoulder gown, bride Aloura glowed beneath the jungle’s natural beauty. “I seriously felt like a princess,” gushed the bride. “I was initially worried that a big, formal gown like that might look a little weird against the Costa Rican backdrop, but it sort of made me feel more cool and dramatic on the day of. The contrast seemed just right.” Groom Andres looked equally sophisticated in his black tuxedo – his forest green bowtie complimenting the shades of the tropics around them. “I felt very sharp, James Bond-like. For some reason I danced all night and I never even took my jacket off. I think that shows how much I liked the look of the suit.”     

From the beautiful, unbelievable surroundings of the jungle to the endless activities for everyone to enjoy, the bride and groom’s long celebration was a chance for the most important people in their lives to leave any worries at the door, and party all week long in the lush, vibrant atmosphere of Costa Rica.
