Nick & Edwin Sent Postcards From Amsterdam

This beautiful couple made the decision to marry as long as they could celebrate with all of their loved ones by their side. There wasn’t a proper wedding proposal, but they made sure everyone heard the big news! On the day, they preferred somewhere local that held a special place in their hearts: “The church venue was very special to us. It is in the neighbourhood where we lived when we first met, and it is just so pretty! The restaurant for our reception is our favourite spot in Amsterdam. It was an easy choice!”

Nick and Edwin are both bridal designers, and with extremely busy schedules during the summer months had to opt for a different time of year. They did want their wedding to be enveloped by rays of sunshine however, so they opted for the 1st October 2022: “We are bridal designers, and the summer is very busy for us. We wanted to celebrate with good weather, so  October 1st was perfect, just at the end of our busy season and with plenty of sunshine to soak up."

“We felt ridiculously like grooms! We went to a few different suit companies, but when we went to The Boardroom, we really felt like they knew what they were talking about, and had great quality fabrics. As bridal designers ourselves, this is incredibly important for us, and we know what we are looking for.” As experts in the field themselves, the lovebirds took extra care when selecting their suits. They opted for elegant tuxedos with white jackets and colourful buttonholes to give the day a pop of colour.  

“Going into the process, we were very much focused on the details and not thinking about the emotions." Before the big day, Nick and Edwin were busy getting everything sorted with their suppliers, and didn’t have time to actually concentrate on their feelings, but when the big day came… “The emotions were unbelievable. Being surrounded by so much love was so incredibly special. It was amazing to toast to our new life together with everyone there cheering us on.”

The couple agreed that they couldn’t have pulled it off without the help of their wedding planner, Myrthe Regelt Het. To make sure everything ran smoothly, they secured a great team of experts to tackle the details and create elegant spaces in both the church and restaurant: “Getting a wedding planner to take control of everything was the best decision we made. This meant we could truly relax and let everything go on the day and not worry about details.”
