A Swedish Love Story

This international couple shared their special day with their favourite people from all over the world...

A Homely Feeling

With Sweden’s autumnal ambience surrounding the charming Bläsinge Gård, the bride and groom were able to immerse themselves in the stunning nature all around them – taking time alone to take some beautiful pictures in front of the crashing waves and cloudy, atmospheric sky. Close to their favourite hiking spot, Kullaberg, and its traditional Swedish character, the couple felt at home in their chosen venue and were able to let their guards down and fully relax on their wedding day with all of their family and friends. “We felt the most connected to Bläsinge Gård out of everywhere we looked,” explains bride Deyra. “We liked its atmosphere: a bit rustic, not too pompous... It was also important for us that our venue had a Vandrarhem or Guesthouse on site which could fit our family and friends, making it possible to have a whole wedding weekend together. Plus, it was only one of the few venues we could find that would allow music until 2.30am... with Jorge’s family from Latin America, we needed to make sure there was enough time for partying and dancing!"

An Intimate Ceremony

The bride and groom ended up with around 80 special guests comprised of their closest friends and family. After Covid restrictions had already pushed the original June wedding back to September, it was a definite worry in the minds of the couple and everyone involved... However, everything worked out perfectly. “Luckily, all Covid restrictions were lifted by the time we got married, so we could celebrate with everyone,” gushes the bride. “We didn’t want too big of a wedding. It was important for us to still be able to talk to most people during the day.” The intimate ceremony made this dream possible for the couple, who were able to spend their entire wedding weekend with those who care about them the most. As well as being able to celebrate as a newly united family, an important aspect of Deyra and Jorge’s special day was the joining of everyone they love from different parts of the world – their guests represented 16 different nationalities altogether! Not only was this an inclusive part of their wedding day, but it was also a rare kind of magic, being able to host an event so full of love that people travelled from all over the world just to be a part of it.

Seamless Style

Bride Deyra matched the subtle elegance of the venue perfectly – her sleek, beautiful gown and colour-scheme-fitting flower crown left her with a lovely final look, seamlessly in-keeping with the stylish décor surrounding her. “I was desperately looking for a second-hand dress, but ended up falling in love with a dress from Karim Design in Copenhagen,” blushes the bride. “It was a gift from my mum and reminded me a little bit of my Turkish roots. I loved it.” Jorge found his sophisticated suit when shopping with his parents in Spain – an equally personal, heartwarming touch.

Rustic Charm

The rustic charm of the venue’s interior – bare, wooden panelling and charming brick walls – allowed the couple to play with the juxtaposition of the décor they chose for their reception... Classy, elegant decorations were scattered on the long tables, relying almost entirely on fairy lights and natural daylight to illuminate it all. This perfectly represented their sustainable approach.
