The Sun-Kissed Ceremony of Alana & Matthew

Panoramic views of rocky cliffs and enchanting buildings surrounded Alana and Matthew’s wedding, the warm Italian sun beaming down on their beautiful day. The intimate ceremony consisted of 38 close friends and family members - the bride and groom opting for a smaller list of guests, making every moment that little bit more personal and touching. After making everlasting memories with their most cherished people within a charming orange grove, around verdant, blooming vegetation, and in a snazzy rooftop bar, the happy couple knew they had made the right decision.

A soft, classy palette of sage and cream brought a calming atmosphere to the ceremony - the natural aesthetics of the pair’s decor enhancing the already beautiful scenery of Sorrento. Their combination of this gentle theme alongside the outstanding beauty of the venue and area stood out to bride, groom, and guests alike… “Once we were shown Hotel Mediterraneo, our minds were instantly made up… We were blown away!” The bride gushes. “Even our guests on the day were left speechless - some thinking the medieval cloisters looked like a film set, and others literally unable to get over the view from the rooftop bar. One of them even said they felt like a celebrity up there!”

Due to the blazing July heat, Alana and Matthew decided to hold their ceremony in the late afternoon, taking the morning for themselves. They explored all around Sorrento, taking beautiful pictures in both the historical centre of town, and the quaint fishing village of Marina Grande, before joining their guests in the hotel’s Orange Grove Garden for apéritifs and Italian finger-food. Once it was time to get ready, the couple felt completely at-ease after their relaxed day together.

“After we chilled around the pool and enjoyed some cocktails, getting ready surrounded by my bridesmaids and my Mum was so fun,” the bride grins. “We ordered room service, drank Bellini’s, and it was just like out of a film! The morning seemed to fly by when getting my hair and make-up done, opening gifts… And before I knew it, it was time!” Right before meeting at the altar, the couple exchanged letters written for one another that morning - having taken some time out of their day to reflect on their relationship and how much they had grown together - to read before celebrating their love in front of their special guests.

Live mandolin music, traditional Italian cuisine, and a full dance-floor were just some of the details of the bride and groom’s stunning evening with guests dancing and laughing the night away beneath a sparkling, clear sky. The couple’s perfect day was brought to life, and they wouldn’t have had a single detail any other way.
