A Timeless Old Hollywood Theme for Corrie & Torez

Abundances of deep pink and red roses adorned the church in which Corrie and Torez held their wedding ceremony – the bright, beautiful colours contrasting perfectly with the angelic white interior. They honoured their love surrounded by romantic bouquets and floral arches, overlooked by an excited crowd of those who love them most. “Initially, we started off with over 300 guests,” laughs bride Corrie. “But we were able to cut down to around 250 people and that was mainly because Torez has a very large family, so we wanted to be able to invite as many people as we could… As long as they could fit in the church!”

From the rose petals lining the aisle, to the stunning stained-glass windows, to the pure love and respect radiating from everyone lucky enough to be involved, even the decorations of the ceremony alone was beautiful enough to be a snapshot from a romance film. The bride and groom’s reception also left no detail unattended to; a charming, Old Hollywood theme, filled with deep mahoganies, golden accents, shimmering black, and glowing candles.

The special couple even had a classic car parked outside the venue to add to their theme even further – a rich red to match their florals, and the perfect photo opportunity for their friends and family. All of these specially curated details led to an outstanding, seamless ceremony fit for the celebrities of Classical Hollywood Cinema… All that was missing was the red carpet!

The bride looked glamorous and stylish in her mermaid-cut gown; the decorative embellishments on the bodice adding a subtle yet stunning additional layer of glitz and glam to the look. With her hair styled into pristine waves, and holding a classic bouquet of red roses, bride Corrie was ready for the paparazzi!

“I always knew I wanted to have my dress custom-made, and I always knew I wanted Phylicia Ellis to make it,” gushes the bride. “So I never tried on any dresses at all! I browsed online for a few weeks and finally found a dress that I fell in love with, and Phylicia was able to replicate for me. I also didn’t want to have to change into a second look, so Phylicia was able to attach a detachable train to my dress that I took off for the reception!”

One of the most heart-warming touches of Corrie and Torez’s wedding was the fact that everything went full circle… The church the pair got married in happened to be the church the bride was baptised in! This was just one of the many magical elements to their special day, and – with excitement at the forefront – the newlyweds were able to let all worries go and celebrate with the people they love most right by their sides.
